An old dog learns a new trick…

Okay,

Went clamming for the first time this last weekend, and it turned out to be one of those, “Why didn’t I do this before?!?” kinda days.

Beautiful weather, lots of friends, took our limit of clams.

The guy who “knew how to do it” said that he’s never seen a day like it. The tides were just right and the clams were literally rolling out of the sand at our feet!

Mr. and Mrs. Enigma were there, and after some hesitation, Mrs. E was the uber-clammer (see pic below).

Picked up some fresh oysters on the way home and bbq’d ’em…

It…was…awesome!

The first step is admitting you are one…

  2. Dinana,

Was that really the best you could do?

I don’t mind being mocked, but that half-witted effort was just insulting…

    I’m ok with that…

Looks like it was a lot of fun, makes me wish I wasn’t land locked over here.

Also it’s good to see old people like you out there trying new things. It gets you out of the bingo parlors. (Or probably massage parlors and cigar shops in your case) I am sure you still shook your fist and had a few “dang kids these days” moments but that is to be expected.

Hey, at least call us middle aged dogs learning new tricks. I refuse to submit to that old dog statement.

  6. Mrs E,

I would never even consider saying such a thing of you…

I’d be too afraid that you’d back over me with your car!

    LOL,

  7. Doesn’t she drive a bug? That would hurt how?

  8. Yeah, but she has a gift for backing into things, and I bruise like a peach…
